Youth Leader – Exciting New Unit in Pōkeno
Requirements:
As a volunteer, you will:
- Have a passion for inspiring girls and young women to reach their full potential and learn new skills
- Be encouraging, assertive, and patient
- Be a hands-on leader and learner
- Meet new people and become part of a worldwide network
During the school term our GGNZ leaders:
- Attend a weekly session (in person) for up to two hours
- Helping plan the term’s activities and deliver them to the girls
- Complete occasional evening/weekend training as required
- Attend periodic leader/planning meetings and trips or camps.
GirlGuiding New Zealand’s Health and Safety policy also has requirements around adult-to-child ratios, so we require you to be older than 18.
A Police background check is required for this role.
Background Check
Applicants for this role are required to give this organisation permission to check their criminal conviction history with the Police.

GirlGuiding New Zealand’s Health and Safety Policy requires that you pass a Police check and adhere to the child safety policies of GirlGuiding New Zealand.
Time commitment:
Pōkeno Guide Club will meet on Tuesday's between 4 - 5 pm at Pōkeno Community Hall, 19 Market Street in Pōkeno, during school term time.
Aside from the weekly meetings, there is the occasional event or camp on the weekend and some planning.
You can expect to spend 2 hours and occasionally up to 4 hours per week volunteering.
We also require a minimum six-month commitment.
