Meet new people, make connections and work as part of the team
You will be assigned to work in a team of 2-3 volunteers led by a Case Manager. Volunteers help set up the house a couple of days before the family arrive. On Arrival Day your team welcomes them to Hamilton and orientates them to the kitchen and explains important information about the house & property.
In the first few weeks, volunteers help with everyday tasks such as:
- Where to shop
- Showing them how to catch a bus
- Enrolling children in school
- Taking them to the doctor, etc.
This is the busiest time, after which the time commitment decreases.
You will need to attend three training sessions:
Evening Course
- Session 1: Tuesday 20th January, 6pm – 8:45pm
- Session 2: Tuesday 27th January, 6pm – 8:45pm
- Session 3: Tuesday 3rd February, 6pm – 8:45pm

Morning Course
• Session 1: Thursday 22nd January, 9:15am – 12pm
• Session 2: Thursday 29th January, 9:15am – 12pm
• Session 3: Thursday 5th February, 9:15am – 12pm
