We are currently looking for volunteers to join the Vinnie’s Rescue/Food Recovery team in 2025 who can spare a minimum of 3 hours a day. We need someone on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, but days can be negotiable.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Rescuing edible and reusable food and redistributing it to people in need
  • Following guidelines and processes to ensure safe handling of food and goods
  • Some heavy lifting will be involved
  • Working alongside our supportive rescue/food recovery team

Requirements:

  • Must have a full drivers license.
  • Reliable and able to work cooperatively in a small team environment.
  • You need to have lots of common sense to be able to follow the guidelines and processes to ensure the quality of the food we rescue is safe for distribution.
  • Preferably someone able to commit to 3+ month in this role.
  • A reasonable level of fitness as there is some heavy lifting involved.
  • Previous food handling experience would be helpful, but not essential as we will provide all necessary training.

Time commitment:

  • Weekdays, preferably Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
  • Between 9am to 1pm, but can be negotiable.
