Make a real difference in the life of a former refugee by teaching them how to drive. Full mentor training is provided as well a professional driving lesson and a dual-control car will be available for each driving session. A compulsory induction will be held at the Settlement Centre Waikato – the date will be advised on application. The Programme Co-ordinator will be responsible for booking and arranging lessons. You will gain experience in tutoring and learn about other cultures.
Driving Mentor-Coach
Requirements:
Held a full NZ licence for 2 years or more. 25 Years or older - due to insurance requirements. A confident and patient driver. Patient, understanding, value safe, legal driving.
Police vetting.
A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.
Background Check
Applicants for this role are required to give this organisation permission to check their criminal conviction history with the Ministry of Justice.

Time commitment:
Attend a half an hour Mentor induction at the Settlement Centre Waikato (46G Boundary Rd. Claudelands), followed by a two-hours mentor training with our driving supervisor at a mutual convenient time. After that, the role requires 2 x 1 hour sessions per week for 12 weeks.
