Are you ready to spread some joy? Volunteer visitors bring companionship and a friendly chat to older folks in Taupō, Turangi, and Tokoroa who might be feeling a little lonely or isolated.

  • You’ll be matched with an awesome older person and visit for about an hour each week—your chats and visits will make a real difference in their happiness and well-being, and you’ll find it’s just as rewarding for you too!

Plus, you’ll get:

Requirements:

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Warm, friendly, and enjoy the company of older people
  • Respectful of confidentiality and open to different cultures
  • Able to commit to about an hour a week on a regular basis
  • Good listening skills and empathy with older folks

  • Age Concern will be notified, and the Coordinator will reach out via email as soon as possible.
  • Please note, we are closed from 22nd December to 9th January. You’re welcome to apply during this time, and we’ll get back to you once we’re back!

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

  • Just about an hour each week—easy and flexible!
