Waikato Equitherapy Incorporated provides horse riding and interaction for children and adults with special needs in Hamilton and the surrounding Waikato area. With a dedicated team of volunteers, committed staff, and a wonderful group of therapy horses, we offer a supportive environment where riders experience physical, emotional, and social growth.
It’s inspiring to see the progress our riders make each week, gaining confidence and joy from their time at the Centre. Waikato Equitherapy is also a place of belonging and support for our volunteers, those on work experience, and children who participate in our holiday programs. It’s a true community where everyone can connect and thrive.
We’re looking for a handy volunteer—someone who can:
- Tackle tasks such as weed spraying, fence repairs, and general maintenance
- Be resourceful and think on their feet
- Take pride in fixing and maintaining the Centre’s facilities
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys being outdoors and doesn’t mind working in the elements. While you’ll often work independently, the friendly team is always nearby to offer support as you carry out essential maintenance tasks.
By volunteering with us, you’ll help contribute to the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals:
- Goal 3 – Good Health & Well-Being
- Goal 4 – Quality Education
